With nearly a decade of experience living and working in France for American multinationals, I founded Lafayette Services in order to address common issues encountered over the course of my career.
From integrating satellite offices acquired from global M&A deals, to smoothing construction issues lost in translation during office buildouts, to managing shipments between France and UK/Switzerland, I have significant experience resolving pain points between American global headquarters and French local offices. Inspired by the Marquis de Lafayette, who participated in both French and American Revolutions, my mission is to leverage this experience to facilitate your business operations.
Prior to founding Lafayette Services, I worked as the head of Digital Workplace Services for Procter & Gamble, where I managed the IT and facilities infrastructure for offices and factories across France. At Sotheby's, I lead digital operations for continental Europe.
Before moving to Paris I worked in New York City as an electrical engineer for Arup, a UK-based multinational engineering firm, where I designed electrical infrastructure for a wide variety of buildings including airports, government facilities, and coworking spaces.
I hold a Bachelors and Masters of Electrical and Computer Engineering from Cornell University, as well as an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University.
Alexander Gorenstein, Founder & CEO
An American business with investments or operations in France, such as:
A VC that invests in a French startup and wants local, independent oversight
An SME with suppliers in France and needs "boots-on-the-ground" without the hassle of a French legal entity
A corporation that acquires a French office via M&A and needs help integrating the new satellite location with HQ
A foreign brand visiting Paris for a temporary event such as Fashion Week and needs event planning and support
I can help companies from any sector, however if you require industry-specific technical knowledge, this is something to be discussed during the initial consultation.
In terms of company size, I am happy to support any company for whom my services would not justify an in-house FTE.
I am happy to leverage my experience to help you with the following activities:
Strategy consulting for navigating issues encountered with your French operations
Site visits to local offices, factories, and suppliers anywhere in France
Coordination with local vendors for temporary on-site activities
Leverage network of local professional contacts to fill any gaps in your business operations
